| Objective: Shou Tai Wan addition was used to treat kidney-deficiency type offirst-trimester threatened abortion by tonifying kidney and enhancing Chong Mai. Theclinical efficacy was evaluated to demonstrate that the Chinese Medicine can treatkidney-deficiency type of first-trimester threatened abortion safely and effectively. Themechanisms of treating was illuminated by studying the changes of blood progesterone(P)、 Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and Th1/Th2cytokine before and aftertreatment.Method:80patients who meet inclusion criteria were enrolled in this study, and theywere allocated into two groups randomly,including Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)group(n=40), Western-Medicine group(n=40) and the Normal group. The normal groupwas composed by30healthy pregnant women on the corresponding period. The TCMgroup was treated by Shou Tai Wan addition and the Western-Medicine group gotconventional therapy with progesterone and HCG,while the normal group got notreatment but only life guidance. The treatments lasting at least two weeks.The integral of syndromes of Traditional Chinese was analyzed to confirm that ShouTai Wan addition can safely and effectively treat the disease. The anti–abortionmechanism were illuminated by studying the changes of blood progesterone (P)、Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and Th1/Th2cytokine before and aftertreatment.Results: There was no statistical difference among the three groups before treatment(P>0.05).(1)The integral of syndromes of Traditional Chinese descended obviously aftertreatments in both TCM group and Western-Medicine group,but TCM group was superior to Western-Medicine group (P<0.05)；treatment time for TCM group was statisticallyshorter than Western-Medicine group.(2) β-HCG and P were significantly increased inboth the TCM group and the Western-Medicine group(P<0.05).There was no significantlydifference between the two groups (P>0.05)but they were both significantly lower than theNormal group(P<0.05).(3) Th1cytokine decreased significantly and Th2cytokineincreased significantly in the TCM group (P<0.05), while the Western-Medicine group andthe normal group were not(P>0.05). Th1/Th2in the TCM group was close to theNormal group after treatment(P>0.05) but there was still statistical difference between theWestern-Medicine group and the Normal group.Conclusions: Shou Tai Wan addition can well decrease the integralof syndromes of Traditional Chinese by tonifying kidney and enhancing Chong Mai; ShouTai Wan addition can increase the levels of β-HCG and P; Shou Tai Wan can alleviatedisorders in immune system by regulating the perception of Th1cytokine and Th2cytokine. Shou Tai Wan addition should be widely used to treat kidney-deficiency type offirst-trimester threatened abortion because of its high effectiveness. |
