The difference of Mean between the two groups using independent-sample t test, and behavioral correlation between variables using Pearson correlation analysis. In study two, we assessed in69schizophrenic patients and70healthy controls, with the Interpersonal Reactivity Index-C, EPQ-RSC,TAS-20,SCSQ,SES. The difference of Mean between the two groups using independent-sample t test, and behavioral correlation between variables using Pearson correlation analysis. In study three, social function assessed by Social Function Handsome Select Scale and the Individual and the Social Function Scale. Social cognition and empathy ability is assessed as the same as the study one and study two. We observed the correlation between social cognition and empathy ability, the correlation social cognition and social functioning, and the correlation empathy ability and social functioning by Pearson correlation analysis. Results:In study one, schizophrenics performed significantly poorer in the Face emotion discrimination, Faux pas recognition task and Means-Ends Problem-Solving task. than controls. Correlation analysis showed that all social cognition task has a significant correlation with indicating that patients with schizophrenia cognitive impairment and clinical psychiatric symptoms. In study two, IRI-C, the total scores and the sub scores in perspective taking, fantasy and empathic concern were significantly lower than the healthy controls, respectively, but more self-related aversive feeling in response to the distress of others. Pearson correlation analysis showed that empathy ability has a significant correlation with personality self-esteem, alexithymia and coping styles. Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that psychoticism, internal and external in EPQ, positive coping and negative coping in SCSQ, extraversion thinking in TAS as independent variables are included in the regression model, indicating that personality traits and coping style affect the ability of empathy. In study three, Pearson correlation analysis revealed significant relation between all social cognition tasks and empathy, all social cognition tasks has a significant correlation with particularly social functioning of SDSS and PSP in schizophrenics, IRI-C score has a significant correlation with particularly social functioning of SDSS and PSP in schizophrenics, indicating that the social cognition, empathy ability and social dysfunction of patients with schizophrenia has a close relationship. analysis revealed empathy was the intermediary variable between social cognition and social functionConclusions:The main results of this research are as the follow:1.
