Objective: To evaluate the correlation of between alkaline phosphatase and essentialhypertension complicated related target organ damages.Methods: A total of1414patients with available and intact clinical data hospitalized in theDepartment of Cardiology, the affiliated hospital of Zunyi Medical College, from January2011to June2013, were included in our study. All patients were divided into two groupsaccording to coronary angiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging,echocardiography and renal function.1212patients with hypertension were selected intothe hypertension group which was further divided into hypertension complicated withcoronary heart disease and non-complicated with coronary heart disease, hypertensioncomplicated with lacunar cerebral infarction group and non-complicated with lacunar cerebralinfarction group, hypertension complicated with cardiac structure change and uncomplicatedcardiac structure change group, hypertension complicated with renal damage andnon-complicated with renal damage. A total of202subjects with normal blood pressure wereserved as the control group. We recorded age, sex, the presence of smoke, hypertension anddiabetes and the results of physical examination. Serum samples were obtained at6AM on thesecond morning after an8-hour fasting period to measure the levels of electrolytes, serumliver-function, lipid profile, renal function and plasma glucose. We compared knowncardiovascular risk factors with the levels of serum P, Ca, liver function, blood lipids, renalfunction and plasma glucose between hypertensions group and control group and analyzed thecorrelation between ALP and essential hypertension and target organ damage, respectively.Results:(1) when the ALP was in the high level group, the proportion of essentialhypertension group was higher than the non-hypertension group (P <0.01), there were nosignificant difference between different classification of hypertension and blood pressurelevel(P>0.05).(2) Multiple logistic regression analyses confirmed that male, smoking, ALP,UA was risk factors for essential hypertension.(3) When the ALP was in the high level group,the proportion of essential hypertension complicated with CHD was higher than that of noncomplicated with CHD group(P <0.05). There was a positive correlation between ALP and hypertensive complicated with CHD, coronary artery lesion counts and Gensini score (P<0.05). ALP level in three kinds of CHD-UAP, AMI and OMI was different significantly.(4)Multi-factor Logistic regression analysis showed that male, smoking, age, ALP were riskfactors for hypertensive complicated with CHD (P<0.05or P<0.01).(5) The level of ALP hadno significant difference in essential hypertension complicated with or without lacunar cerebralinfarction,cardiac structure change,kidney damage (P>0.05).(6)Calcium and calcium-phosphorusproduct in essential hypertension group was lower than in the normal blood pressure group,blood phosphorus and calcium-phosphorus product in complicated with CHD group was lowerthan the non complicated with CHD group. There were positive correlation between ALP andCa in essential hypertension complicated with CHD group.Conclusions: The ALP was independent risk factor for essential hypertension andcomplicated with CHD. ALP may be associated with the severity of coronary artery lesions. Itsunderlying mechanism may be related to abnormal of blood calcium and calcium-phosphorusproduct.
