| Objective To investigate the protective effect of thymosin β4(Tβ4)on myocardial ischemia injury in rats.Methods Twenty-four healthy SD rats were used to establish myocardial infarction(MI) models. They were randomly divided into three groups. In sham group (n=8), rats were not subjected to ligation; In NS group (n=8), rat left anterior descending coronary arteries were ligated with normal saline. In Tβ4group (n=8), rats were subjected Tβ4carried by lentiviral. After four weeks, the rats’heart function was measured by echocardiography. TUNEL method was used to detect apoptosis of cardiomyocytes. Tβ4protein and VEGF protein expression was measured by Western blot. Tβ4mRNA expression was measured by RT-PCR.Results The EF%of Tβ4group was increased than NS group (P<0.01).Tβ4reduced AMI-induced apoptosis (P<0.01).The expression of Tβ4and VEGF protein was increased in Tβ4group (P<0.05)Conclusion Tβ4can improve the cardiac function of ischemia infarction of rats. |
