| Strategy method is an advantaged behavioral experimental method compared todirect method, which was proposed in1976. It can obtain more data in one experiment. Inthe research of strategy method, some papers find out that the results of strategy methodand direct method are different, some papers find out no differences. So whether the twomethods are replaceable is still a unknown. In order to solve the problem, we use thefunctional MRI technique to compare the functional MRI imaging results of the twomethods and the behavioral lab results to find out whether there are differences. The model of the experiment is the capacity allocation game with one supplier andtwo retailers. The capacity allocation game is one of important models of supply chaingame. Because the model is quite simple, it can be used in functional MRI experimentdesign. The result shows that, there are no significant differences between two methods oflaboratorial result. As for the imaging result, the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC)and anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) are more active in strategy method. These two brainregions are related to the cognition, memory, and attention. This result implies subjectsused more cognitive resource in strategy method than direct method. Combining thelaboratorial result and the imaging result, we can find out that the strategy method onlytakes the subjects more cognitive and attention resource, the result’s data is notsignificantly different with direct method’s. Otherwise, we find out that the subjects paymore attention on the result processing instead of decision processing based on theimaging results. This result implies the importance of the result part in the experimentdesign, and whether there is the result part may influence the result quietly. |
