Heart disease is the number one killer of human health. Around the world theannual number of deaths from heart disease is up to9.6million, which means that inevery thirty three seconds someone maybe die. According to statistics in our country,the number of deaths from heart disease is close to the total number of deaths fromother diseases, prevention and diagnosis of heart disease has become the focus of theChinese medical health field.At present, the detection of heart disease is mostly dependent on the ECGmonitor. The ECG monitor can collect ECG signal, display ECG waveform inreal-time, and intelligently analyses ECG data, so it can assist in mastering thephysiological function of the heart. ECG monitors on the market can be divided intotwo categories: one is the stationary clinical monitors. As this kind of monitors havelarge volume, they are not easy to carry. But they have powerful functions and stableperformance.Another type of monitors is the portable ECG monitors which usually use thesingle-chip embedded microcontroller as the core. The monitors are small, lightweight,and easy to carry. But their functions are less powerful, and without remotecommunication function. With the progress of science and technology, thecombination of microelectronic technology and mobile communication technologymake on-site or remote physiological signal detection become possible. By utilizingthis technology, we can develop new ECG monitor that will be more portable andpowerful, meanwhile with a network communication function. As we know, theUnited States George Washington University had developed a three-lead ECGmonitor based on Paml Pocket PC. This monitor can record three channel ECGsignals and display ECG waveform in real time.With the combination of microelectronic technology and mobile communicationtechnology, we design a new kind of ECG monitor which base on Androidsmart-phone. It can collect ECG signal, display ECG waveform in real-time, do ECGdata analysis and warn the abnormal ECG signal.We mainly do the following two aspects of work:(1) Design of the ECG acquisition module. The module contains the ECG inputbuffer circuit, the leads switching circuit, the preamplifier circuit, the filter circuit, thesecond amplifier circuit, the Bluetooth transmission circuit and so on. ECG acquisition module uses the16-bit microcontroller MSP430F149as the control core.Relying on the advantages of low power consumption, powerful processing capabilityand rich internal integration of resources, we have designed the ECG acquisitionmodule that can be easy to carry, be used in a long time, and collect ECG accurately.We use IAR embedded development tools to do the simulation and debugging ofMSP430F149, to realize the microcontroller ECG analog-to-digital conversion,Bluetooth and other functions.(2) Design of ECG software working in the Android phone. The softwareworking in Android smart-phone uses the Eclipse Juno tools to write and debug ECGmonitoring program. In the development process of ECG monitoring software, wewrite applications mainly by means of Android SDK, to complete the ECG interactiveinterface, real-time ECG waveform display and waveform playback, the ECG recordbrowsing and saving. Rapid processing of large amount of data in the Applicationsuch as signal analysis and early warning function module will use the JNI towrite,which can use C++, C to achieve native resources, to improve the systemcomputing performance and speed up data processing.
