Objective: To acknowledge the prevalence of anemia of the children inChina-Australia project areas who between6-months-old to2-years-old, analyze its impactfactors, so as to provide the evidence for improving the nutrition status and establishingintervention policy.Method: Randomly select the vilage in each China-Australia project areas, takechildren between6-months-old to2-years-old as the survey respondent. The parents wereinvestigated with the self-designed questionnaire, and there were professional staff to doanthropometric measurement and detection of hemoglobin. Use Epidata3.0to built thedatabase, and SPSS12.0to analyze.Result:(1) descriptive analysis:①There are1464children between6-months-old to2-years-old,780boys and684girls, the sex ratio is1.14:1.6.28%of them were low birthweight, and2.87%were macrosomia.②89.10%of the respondents were female and59.38%were the mothers.69.15%of the mothers were taking care of the children, and42.44%for grandmothers,23.67%for fathers,14.30%for grandfathers. The average age ofthe parents were28.56±4.80years old and26.14±4.47years old, and most of them werebetween25to35years old. About62.00%of the parents received junior middle schooleducation.29.23%of the parents go out as migrant workers and only38.10%didn’t go out.③66.17%of the families only had one child and2.6%had more than2children.80.72%ofthe respondents evaluated their economic status as fair, taking the most part. The proportionof rich was16.05%.④The average hemoglobin of the children was113±10.96g/L,31.91%of them were anemia and2.19%were middle pitch.(2) Single factor analysis showed that the factors impacted anemia include: caregivers,family economic status, physical examination, expacctation of children’s height, concept offeeding, knowing the monitor ways, how to feed in6months, time to introduce paste, timeto introduce meat, cod liver oil, time of eating meat and egg, cooking independent, stunning and malnutrition.(3) Multy factor analysis: unconditioned logistic regression analysis showed: how tofeed in6months, physical examination, expacctation of children’s height, time of eatingmeat and egg, growth retardation impacted anemia.Conclusion: The anemia condition of children in China-Australia project areas wasmodest level in China. There are differences in different areas How to feed in6months,health service, dietary supplement and the condition of development are the major impactof anemia. We should improve the health service, feeding knowledge, establishingintervention policy to reduce the prevalence of anemia and better children’s nutritionalstatus.
