Laser acupuncture is the product of coopertaion betwenn the modern technologyand troditional Chinese acupuncture during the process of the modenizations oftraditional Chinese medicine,however,laser acupuncture is mainly used as adjuvanttherapy tools of TCM in clinical applications.In clinical applications,Chineseacupuncture can reach a good therapeutic effects for many diseases,but acupucturesynscope,sticking of the needle,breaking of the needle may happen during thetheropy,which can cause several negative effects,in addition,the non-quantitative of theparameters of the tradiational Chinese acupuncture(TCA) also retracts its applicationand devepoment.The medical applications of laser have a lot of advantages such aspainless,non-invasive. In recent years, propagation of light in tissue and the resultingphotochemical or photothermal response has received considerable attention owing tothe increased number of diagnostic and therapeutic applications of lasers in medicine.Inorde to avoid the limit of the blindness in the process of the laser acupunctureinstruments’ development,a model of laser acupuncture is proposed in this paper, a newlaser acupuncture insrument is devoped on the basis of the proposed model,it cansimulicates the TCA techniques.The first job of this paper is the review of the development of laser acupucture.Thispaper describes the current undersanding of the physical events that can occur duringthe acupuncture therapy,including the quantification of the TCA’s paramters,thetemperature distribution was calculated during laser-tissue interactions.In this study,alaser acupuncture model was proposed to connect the parameters of the TCA and laseracupuncture.A new laser acupuncture instrument with a semi-conductor laser and a SCM wasdesiged to achieve traditional acupuncture techniques.The temperature was used an thequantization parameter to estimate the therapeutic effect,in this study,a temperaturesystem was intoduced to monitore the tissue’s temperature. The results showed that,theacupucture instrument which was designed on the basis of the proposed laseracupuncture model can reach the therpeutic effect as the TCA.The method proposed inthis paper of how to model the laser acupuncture and quantize the parameters provides atheoretical approch with practical signigicance for the devepoment of laser acupuctureand instrumens.
