Objective:The aim of this article is evaluating the value of the interlocking intramedullary nail in the treatment of old femoral shaft fractures.Method:Retrospective analysis12cases of old femoral shaft fractures patients who were been treating in our hospital, from January2011to December2012. All patients were closed and old fractures with the treatment of interlocking intramedullary nail. The average time from injury to operation of all patients is6.7months (26days-19months). Taking X-ray at pro-operation, post-operation immediately, post-operation regularly follow-up. Evaluating the prognosis of patients with the Johner wruhs rating standard.Results:12patients were followed up for2-15months (average of10.6months). All patients of fracture were healed in8-13weeks (average of9.2weeks). According the Johner wruhs rating standard, prognosis:excellent in5cases, good in5cases, barely acceptable in2cases,0poor. The excellent-good rate was83.33%.There were no operation complications found in all patients post-operation.Conclusions:Treatment of old femoral shaft fracture with interlocking intramedullary nail, combined with long-term, perfect post-operative rehabilitation training can obtain satisfactory therapeutic effects.
