Objective:To study the characteristics of cognitive impairment and depression in the patients with thalamic stroke Methods:30patients with single lesion thalamic stroke and30healthy subjects participated in the current study, whose age, sex and education were matched. Fuld Object-Memory Evaluation (FOM)、Rapid verbal retrieve (RVR)、Block Design (BD)、Digit Span (DS)、 Alzheimer’s disease assessment scale-cognitive (ADAS-Cog)、 symbol-digit test、 digit delete test、 Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) Was used for evaluation. Results:Compared to the normal control group,there was an decline of cognitive functions in patients with single left thalamic lesion stroke in Fuld Object-Memory Evaluation (FOM)、 Digit Span (DS)、 Alzheimer’s disease assessment scale-cognitive (ADAS-Cog)、 symbol-digit test and digit delete test (P value <0.05).(P values>0.05); Compared to the normal control group,there was an decline of cognitive functions in patients with single right thalamic lesion stroke in Digit Span (DS) and digit delete test (P value<0.05); there were no significant differences between the controls and thalamic stroke in Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS)(P values>0.05). Conclusions:The patients with left thalamic stroke result in lesion of verbal memory attention and performance and aphasia. Right thalamic stroke result in lesion of attention and performance.
