An Analysis Of Blood Pressure Variability Among Non-hypertensive Patients With Type2Diabetes Mellitus

Objective：To observe the changes on24-hour ambulatory blood pressure innormotensive patients with type2diabetes mellitus.Methods：We retrospectively analysis121normotensive patients encountered in ourhospital from Jan2010to Jun2012.Divided them into two groups according to whetherthey have diabetes or not: Group A is comparison group, who don’t have type2diabetesmellitus. Group B is type2diabetes mellitus patients. We recorded24-hour ambulatoryblood pressure and statistically analysed. Results：The office diastolic blood pressure、theoffice systolic blood pressure、daytime average systolic blood pressure(dSBP)、dayttimeaverage diastolic blood pressure(dDBP)、 nighttime average systolic bloodpressure(nSBP)、nighttime average diastolic blood pressure (nDBP)、24-hour averagesystolic blood pressure (24SBP)、24-hour average diastolic blood pressure (24hDBP) aresignificantly differ between groups A and B. The daytime diastolic blood pressure load、nighttime systolic blood pressure load、nighttime diastolic blood pressure load、24-hoursystolic blood pressure load、24-hour diastolic blood pressure load also significantly differbetween groups A and B. Incidences of prehypertension in the type2diabetic patients arehigher than comparison group. Conclusion:The type2diabetic patients withnormotension already have increased systolic blood pressure before the clinicalhypertension, at the same time they also have allorhythmia of circadian blood pressure andfluctuation of blood pressure. And the incidences of prehypertension in the type2diabeticpatients are higher than comparison group. So the patients who have type2diabetesshould do ambulatory blood pressure monitoring earlier. In clinical practice, use the ambulatory blood pressure monitor can better to discover this abnormality of bloodpressure earlier. And also we can treatment it earlier.
