Epidemiological Investigation Of Allergic Rhinitis In The Shuimogou District Of Urumqi City

Objective To investigate the morbidity of allergic rhinitis(AR) in the shuimogoushuimogou district of Urumqi city and its correlative factors．Methods A questionnairesurvey on AR was conducted among2050people form571household,form August toOctober,2011in the shuimogou district of Urumqi city, We applied cluster samplingmethods to the permanent residents, Our investigation had two stages:At the first stage,screening of suspected AR patients according to the results of the preliminary screeningquestionnaire,and then suspects of AR were taken specialized examination and answer theprofessional questionnaire. Diagnosis criteria of AR were the guide of AR in diagnosisand treatment in2009．Result1989questionnaires were available.The effective rate was97.0%．The prevalence rate of AR was12.07%in the shuimogou district of Urumqicity.The difference of prevalence between females11.54%and males12.5%wasstatistically insignificant(χ~2=0.892，P＞0.05)．Accor ding to the classification criteria ofARIA in2001, of115residents suffered from intermittent AR,99cases were mild and16cases were moderate-severe, while125suffered from persistent AR,76cases were mildand49cases were moderatese-severe. Conclusion The prevalence rate of AR was12.07%in the shuimogou district of Urumqi city. The prevalence rate of intermittent allergicrhinitis is less than persistent allergic rhinitis. Strategy of prevention and treatment of ARshould be worked out according to the epidemic feature of AR.
