| Objective: To discuss recent curative effect, survival rate and side reaction of theradiochemotherapy in locally advanced esophageal cancer. Methods: Previously untreated108patients with histologically confirmed squamous cell carcinoma of the locallyadvanced esophageal cancer, and no metastases (including cervical or celiac lymph nodeinvolvement [M1a])before treatment, and confirmed by the pretreatment examinations likeupper endoscopy, esophagogram, computed tomography (CT) scans of the chest, thenaccording to the inclusion criteria randomly divided into two groups,66patients weredistributed in the concurrent radiochemotherapy group were treated with concurrentradiotherapy and chemotherapy; the other42patients in the radiotherapy group weretreated only with radiotherapy. The chemotherapy regimens was for the cisplatin basedchemotherapy,20~30mg/㎡d cisplatin ivgtt days1to2,and fluorouracil500mg ivgttdays1to5and calcium folinate300mg ivgtt days1to5,or fluorouracil only.Theradiotherapy regimens was intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), theradiotherapy dosage was50~66Gy.Then observe the therapeutic effect and toxic and sideeffect of the two groups after the treamtment. Results: The effective rate was90.9%in theconcurrent radiochemotherapy group, and was71.4%in the radiotherapy group.The1year,2year and3year survival rates were83.9%ã€62.5%ã€46.4%in the concurrentradiochemotherapy group, and were63.5%ã€50.1%ã€42%in the radiotherapy group.Thetransfer and the recurrence rate in the concurrent radiochemotherapy group were48.5%,and in the radiotherapy group were52.4%. The difference was not statisticallysignificant. Both in the two groups has no serious side effect occurre. Conclusion:The concurrent radiochemotherapy in locally advanced esophageal cancer itscurative effect is better than that of radiotherapy only, and do not increase the seriousadverse reaction. |
