Objective:Laryngeal cancer accounts for13.9%of head and neck cancer, second onlyto the nasopharyngeal, nasal cancer.Squamous cell carcinoma is the most commonpathological type, accounting for90%, adenocarcinoma, sarcoma andother typesaccount for only a tiny minority. The LSCC treatment including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and comprehensive treatment, the prognostic factors of laryngeal cancerincluding patient age, the presence or absence of alcohol addiction, the primary site oftumor infiltration range, lymph node metastasis, and treatment factors such as surgicalapproach, whether comprehensive treatment. Early diagnosis of laryngeal rate is muchhigher than before, but there are still some poor patient outcomes and poor prognosis,.The research of occurrence, development and prognosis factors of laryngeal squamouscell carcinoma are still important.In1863, Rudolf Virchow hypothesized that cancer originated from sites of chronicinflammation after observing leucocytes in tumor tissues. But other theories consideredthat chronic inflammation would result in the pro-cancer microenvironment favorablefor survival of tumor cells and their growth. Interleukin-17(IL-17) as the characteristicsof the TH helper T cells secrete cytokines play an important role in host defense andautoimmune diseases, high expression of IL-17was found in gastric cance, coloncancer, the primaryliver cancer, ovarian cancer, myeloma in the cancer tissue orperipheral bloodd, suggesting that IL-17may be widely expressed in tumor patients andlocal tumor. In this study, immunohistochemistry was used to detect IL-17expression inlaryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and explore the relationship between IL-17andoccurrence, development and prognosis of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, and apreliminary outlook of treatmentsignificance in laryngeal cancer. Methods: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression levels ofinterleukin-17in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma tissue samples, to analyze therelationship of interleukin17and tumor clinicopathological characteristics andprognosis. Results: The expression of IL-17in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma tissues is obviously higher than that in djacent tissues(P<0.05). The expression of IL-17wasassociated with tumor T staging, tumor differentiation, regional lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and recurrence (P <0.05). Log-rank test showed that the prognosis ofpatients was related to the primary tumor site, tumor stage, regional lymph nodemetastasis, distant metastasis, IL-17expression (P <0.05),While Cox multiple factorsanalysis showed that IL-17was not independent prognostic risk factors. Conclusion: The expression of IL-17may be the vital indexes in laryngeal squamouscell carcinoma, can provide some theoretical basis for the anti-tumor immunotherapy forlaryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.
