Objective:To investigate the change of bone mineral density (BMD) and osteoporosis(OP) detection rate of Uygur and Han nationality in XinJiang and to compare thedifference between them. Methods: The left forearm ulnar distal bone mineral density(BMD) of861people20-89years old of Uygur and Han nationalities in Xinjiang weremeasured by EXA-3000dual energy densitometer. Results:The peak values werepresented in the age group of30-39in both nationalities. With the age of subjectsincreased, BMD was gradually began to decline. The same age group, the same part offemale OP incidence was significantly higher in males (P<0.01). Whether male or femaleOP detection rate was correlated with age. Conclusion: By the comparison the value ofBMD of Han nationality is slightly higher then that of the people Uygur nationality inXinJing, especially in50-59years, Han`s women was significant higher than Uygur(P<0.01)...
