Objective: To investigate the impact of antithyroid antibody(ATA) on pregnancyoutcome following the in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET).Methods: A total of65patients (71cycles) positive for antithyroid antibody (ATA+group) and492infertile women (512cycles) negative for antithyroid antibody (ATA-group) undergoing IVF/ICSI from August2011~05to August2011~05in thereproductive center, the first affiliated hospital of Xinjiang medical were retrospectivelyanalyzed. Results: There was no significant difference in the days of ovarian stimulation, totalgonadotropin dose, serum E2level of HCG day, number of oocytes retrieved, fertility rateof ICSI, number of available embryos and pregnancy rate between the two groups. TheIVF fertilization rate, high quality embryo rate following IVF-ET were significantly lowerin women with antithyroid antibody than in control group (59.73%vs70.86%,26.94%vs36.31%), but the abortion rate was significantly higher in patients with antithyroidantibody (37.5%vs17.79%).Conclusion: Patients with antithyroid antibody showed significantly lower fertilizationrate, high quality embryo rate and higher risk for abortion following IVF-ET whencompared with those without antithyroid antibody. Thus, the antithyroid antibody isdetrimental for the pregnancy outcome following IVF-ET. therefore, regulating thyroidautoimmune function before and during IVF programme may have some clinical value....
