Objective:To construct identification index system for the rural medical students in Xinjiang Higher Vocational Colleges and to investigate these students’ occupation identity status by using the index system. We will put forward suggestions to promote rural doctors’learning and improve occupation identity and medical learning enthusiasm and further to improve the quality of education.Method:To construct Xinjiang vocational rural physician student index system with by Delphi method and analytic hierarchy process (AHP), and using stratified random cluster sampling method on the basis of a questionnaire-site investigation, all findings of the investigation were be analyzed by spss16.0statistical software package.Results:(1) These identification index systems included six-level indicators (occupation cognition, career emotional, professional conduct, career commitment, career aspirations and professional values) and44secondary indicators.(2) Through two rounds of consultation, expert questionnaire Kendall concordance coefficient>0.5; the investigation questionnaire Cranach’s a coefficient is0.80, the results indicated the index system of internal consistency.(3) Vocational rural physicians overall level of students’ professional is identity middle, the professional career identity level of the clinical students is higher than in medical Students ’Minority students’ occupation identity level is generally higher than that of Han nationality students in nationalities; Male and female students’ occupation identity are no statistical significance by gender.Conclusion:Vocational rural professional identity indicators for physician student of Xinjiang well combined with geographic and biogenic features in Xinjiang,. These professional identity status provide a scientific basis for the evaluation of Xinjiang Vocational rural physicians, and promote students to improve their professional knowledge, professional sense of belonging, the direction of professional sense of honor.
