ObjectivesTo make quantitative comparision on proprioception between unaffected side ofhemiplegic patients after stroke and normal lower limbs.MethodsTo compare the difference of kinematic parameters such as Average trace error(ATE) Test’t time execution(TTE) and Stability index(SI) in28hemiplegic patients after strokeand30normal person, they were measured in the lower limbs by using a computerizedproprioceptive foot-board(Pro-Kin system,Tecnbody,Italy). Parameters were comparedbetween non-affected side lower limb after stroke and normal person between the rightand the left lower limb of normal person and found the correlations between ATE andTTE.Results○1Non-affected side of hemiplegic patients after stroke and normal lower limbs werenotable different on the three parameters ATE TTE and SI(p<0.05);○2The deficits of non-affected side of right-hemisphere damage were greater thanleft-hemisphere damage on ATE and TTE(p<0.05),except TTE(p>0.05);○3normal person had no difference between the lower two limbs on ATE TTE and SI(p>0.05);○4Moderate correlation was found betweenATE and TTE(r=-0.550,p=0.002). ConclusionsProprioception in the non-affected side lower limbs had deficits after stroke, and thedeficits of non-affected lower limbs were greater after right-than left-hemispheredamage. There was no difference between the lower two limbs of normal person, andthere was a moderate correlation between ATE and TTE. The Tecnobody PK254Prehabilitation system can be best used in quantitative evaluation of proprioception in thefeet.
