Objective1.To investigate composition of bacteria and antimicrobial drug resistance of bacteria for all kinds of antimicrobial agents, the bacteria isolated from hospitalized patients respiratory secretions at the first affiliated hospital of anhui medical university in2011.2.To evaluate the antimicrobial activity of recombinant human beta defensin3(rhBD-3) on multi-drug resistant bacteria (Pseudommonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, Enterobacter cloacae, Staphylococcus aureus).Methods1.collection of Pathogenic bacteria isolated from hospitalized patients respiratory secretions in our hospital from January to December2011. All isolates were identified by automated Microscan WalkAway-96made by Dade Behring Inc in American, Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was carried out according to a unified protocol using Kirby-Bauer method.2. Multi-drug resistant bacteria(Pseudommonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, Enterobacter cloacae, Staphylococcus aureus) was selected, The OD of these strains fluid was measured by turbidity method, minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) was determined, the differences were compared with those in the controls.Results1. A total of1585clinical isolates were collected from January to December2011, of which gram negative organisms and gram positive cocci accounted for12.1%(1143/1585) and27.9%(442/1585)2. The detection rates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter cloacae, acinetobacter baumannii, pneumonia klebsiella bacillus was higher in gram negative organisms. The isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were251,21.5%of these strains were resistant to imipenem. The rates of drug resistance to amikacin were lower (13.5%). The isolates of acinetobacter baumannii were189, about30.3%of these strains were pandrug resistance. The rates of drug resistance to Piperacillin/Tazobactam were lower (37.5%). The rates of these strains drug resistance to Imipenem were55.6%. The isolates of pneumonia klebsiella bacillus were178,10.1%of these strains were resistant to imipenem. The isolates of Enterobacter cloacae were232. About19.3%of these strains were resistant to imipenem.3. The detection rates of Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae was higher in gram positive organisms.101Staphylococcus aureus strains were isolated including71MRS A strains, the MRS A rates of these strains was70.30%. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing showed that the resistant rates of MRSA were much high than those MSSA(P<0.01). All strains were susceptible to Tigecycline, Vancomycin and Linezolid.4. rhBD-3demonstrates antimicrobial activity against all the strains. Within a certain concentration rang, rhBD-3concentration increased, antimicrobial activity enhanced.Conclusion1.The rate of pathogenic bacteria isolated from hospitalized patients respiratory secretions in our hospital was higher from January to December2011. The antibiotic resistance of acinetobacter baumannii was most serious in gram negative organisms.2. rhBD-3has significantly antimicrobial activity against multi-drug resistant bacteria, that brings new hope as effective substitute for multi-drug resistant bacteria.
