Objective: Acute pancreatitis can be caused by different etiologies. Pancreatitishas different clinical pathogenesis according to different etiology. Serum amylaseplays a vital role in the diagnosis of AP. Amylase is the indicator of the onset AP.When the AP is cured, the level of amylase will be recovered to normal level. However,After clinical treatment, the recovery time of amylase for each patient is very different. This paper is focused on the various factors which may affect the recovery time ofserum amylase. At the same time,we dicuss whether the characteristics of the generaldata is different among various caused of pancreatitis.Method: the age and sex, different etiologies, chemical examination andprograms of therapy for patients in our hospital are collected and studied from theJanuary2006y, to December2010y, and from the January2001y to October2010y.The patients are divided into five groups according to different causes, which weregallstone、binge overeating、alcohol、hyperlipidemia and the idiopathic one. Theaverage recovery time of serum amylase and the average age of AP are compared bymethod of analysis of variance. The sex ratio is compared among different groupsusingχ2test. The index of serum amylase、total bilirubin、triglycerides、serum ureanitrogen and creatinine are collected on admission. Using Logistic statistical method tostudy which factors affect the recovery time of the serum amylase. The therapyprograms are divided into four kinds according to different combinations of drug. Thefirst program is the combination of somatostatin+gabexate+UTI Katahdin fortreatment, The second program is the combination of somatostatin+gabexate fortreatment, The third program is the combination of somatostatin+UTI Katahdin fortreatment, The fourth program is the combination of gabexate+UTI Katahdin fortreatment. The recovery time of serum amylase is analyzed and compared among four groups of treatment using multi-factor analysis of variance.Result:1.the average recovery time of serum amylase were (7.84±5.79)days inbiliary group,(3.93±2.71)days in binge overeating group,(4.03±2.53) days in alcoholicgroup,(3.21±1.84)days in hyperlipidemic group,(4.24±3.07)days in the idiopathicgroup. The recovery time of serum amylase in biliary group is longer than the othergroups and the difference was statistically significant(F=11.697,P〈0.01〉.2. Therewas diffence in the average age among various groups(F=3.025,P=0.019〈0.05),Theaverage age in alcoholic and hyperlipidemic groups was smaller than the idiopathicgroup(P〈0.01).3. The incidence of male was higher than that of female in alcoholicand hyperlipidemic groups(P〈0.01).4.The level of serum amylase and total bilirubinat admission influence the recovery time of serum amylase in patients with acutepancreatitis (P〈0.05).5.There was not difference in the recovery time of serumamylase with different schemes (P〉0.05).Conclusion: The recovery time of serum amylase in biliary pancreatitis was thelongest; The average age of alcoholic and hyperlipidemia pancreatitis was small;themajority of patients were men in alcoholic and hyperlipidemia pancreastitis. The higerlevel of serum amylase and bilirubin, the longer recovery time of serum amylase.Different combinated schemes of drug don’t influence the recovery tinme ofserum amylase.
