Objective: To determine the protective effect of Panax Notoginseng Saponins (PNGS) for Sevre Acute Pancreatitis (SAP) in rats model and its functional mechanism. Methods: Eighty rats were randomly divided into 5 groups and SAP model was established by using retrograde injection of Sodium Taurocholate into cholangiopancreatic duct. All SAP groups were treated by PNGS and somatostatin .The changes of serum amylase , TNFα,TXB2 and the pathological demonstration of the pancreases and the lung were observed to study protective effect of PNGS for SAP model in rats. Results: The experimental results were as follows.⑴ The level of serum amylase , TNFαand TXB2 were obviously increased (P<0.01) and the pathological changes in the pancreas and the lung occurred in SAP model in rats; ⑵ The ascites, the pathological changes in the pancreas and the lung, the serum amylase,TNFαand TXB2 in the group of using PNGS and in the group of using somatostatin group obviously decreased compared with non-therapeutic group (P<0.05).⑶ There have not been clearly differences in the level of serum amylase (P>0.05) and there have been obviousdifferences in the level of serum TNFαand TXB2 between the PNGS group and the somatostatin group (P<0.05).Conclusion: The PNGS could inhabit the release of pancreatic amylase and TNFα,TXB2 and somatostatin could also do the release of pancreatic amylase and could not decrease the level of TNFαand TXB2 for the SAP model in rats...
