ObjectiveTo realize the distribution characteristics of three common causes of chroniccough in children in different age groups. To discuss the differences of lung functiontest and bronchial dilation test that revere obstructive airway assessment of chroniccough in children. The purpose is to understand the distribution characteristics ofchronic cough in children and how to use of the lung function tests in help to diagnosis.MethodsCases of chronic cough from outpatient we selected between the age of3~12years old, who were seen a doctor in Dalian Children’s hospital during2009.3-2012.2All cases, except acute cough, specific cough, with specific basic diseases on the otherhand, chronic cough, is not to give a definite diagnosis, according to children’s chroniccough diagnosis standard. We used prospective study and continuous sampling methodto study the cases. All patients do auxiliary examination, diagnostic treatment andregular follow-up according to the diagnosis of chronic cough process. The casesdivided into CVA group, the RI and PIC group and UACS group Based on thepathogenesis. To start statistical analysis for three common causes distribution ofdifferent age groups; And tested forced vital capacity function and the bronchialdilatation of three groups, further to compared and analyzed the different lung functionresults of the three common causes.Results1. Three common causes of chronic cough in children were CVA, RI and PIC andUACS. There are100cases, but105causes. There are95cases of a single cause, accounting for95%, There are5cases of double causes, accounting for5%. 2. The distribution of causes in children with chronic cough2.1105cases of chronic cough in children with three kinds of common diseasesdue to CVA(44%), RI and PIC(29%), and UACS(27%). The highest is CVA.2.2The number of three common causes is not the same in different age groups.CVA located in the first place in preschool group and school age group, but RI and PICin preschool group is higher than UACS while in the school age group UACS isprevalent.3. The changes of the lung function3.1The constituent ratio of the pulmonary dysfunction in different causesThere are52of105cases of chronic cough in children with lung functiongenerally normal, accounting for49%,while53patients had ventilatory dysfunction, accounting for51%; the constituent ratio of ventilatory dysfunction of chronic cough inchildren and three common causes followed by55%,24%,21%, CAV is highest.3.2Three common causes of lung function ventilatory defect positive rateThe positive rate of pulmonary ventilatory dysfunction which derive fromcommon causes of chronic cough in children is different, CVA、RI and PIC、UACSfollowed by63.0%、43.3%、37.9%,CAV is highest.3.3The constituent ratio of the bronchial dilation test positive78cases of chronic cough in children with bronchial dilation test negative resultsin64cases, accounting for69.87%, positive results in24cases, accounting for30.13%; bronchial dilation test positive patients, three common causes of CVA,, RI,and the PIC, UACS followed by55%,24%,21%of CVA.3.4bronchial dilation test positive rate of three common causes78cases of chronic cough in children had bronchial dilation test; positive testpositive rates of CVA, RI and the PIC, UACS were53%,18%,12.5%, CVA is thehighest.Conclusions:1.Three composition of three common causes of chronic cough in children aged3-12years followed by CVA, RI and PIC and UACS.2. The etiology constituting chronic cough is mainly CAV; in addition to this, children of preschool group is mostly with a reason of RI and PIC,but school age groupis UACS. 3. The positive rate of pulmonary ventilatory dysfunction which derive fromcommon causes of chronic cough in children is different, CVA、RI and PIC、UACSfollowed by63.0%、43.3%、37.9%,CAV is highest.4. The positive rate of bronchial dilation test which derive from common causesof chronic cough in children is different, the positive rate of CAV is highest, RI andPIC、UACS is lower, while negative rate is higher.
