The Confirmation Of Clinical Pathway Of Varicosis Of Great Saphenous Vein And Unilateral Inguinal Hernia And Analysis Of Their Medical Costs

Objective:To explore the implementation situation of a clinical pathway for great saphenous varicose veins and unilateral inguinal hernia patients, and analyze their medical costs, discuss its advantages in reducing the cost of hospitalization. For hospital to control the medical expense and put forward feasible countermeasures.Methods:the retrospective analysis method to three national-level comprehensive hospital Wuxi Fourth People’s Hospital from2010January to2011December implementation and not the implementation of clinical pathway management of varicose great saphenous vein and unilateral inguinal hernia operation patients hospitalization costs, drug cost, inspection cost and length of hospitalization were compared analysis, medical records and hospital costs from the hospital medical record room and information science. On implementation of clinical pathways and not the implementation of clinical pathway for patients with total cost of hospitalization cost, operation cost, anesthesia, check the cost and duration of hospitalization were compared and analyzed, using SPSS16.0software to carry on statistical analysis, the statistical methods used is the t test, to determine the real clinical path to reduce the cost of inpatients with strengths and needs improvement.Results:on the whole, implementation of the clinical pathway could reduce the duration of hospitalization, medication costs, check the cost and length of hospitalization, due to the implementation of clinical pathways are still exploring stage, entered the clinical path were less, hospital for the clinical path management and implementation is not complete, still need further exploration and optimization.Conclusion:the clinical pathway of medical management is an effective mode to shorten the time of hospitalization, and part of medical link cost has a significant role, but this mode is in specific implementation process is still insufficient, especially in its did not reduce the total cost of hospitalization. Hospital for the clinical path management and quality control still needs improvement, we can really play the advantage of clinical pathway, and it can improve the patients’ satisfaction and to reduce medical disputes.
