OBJECTIVE To observe the healing of bony defect by histology and ultrastructure and curative of a osteoset/polymeric amino acid-Isoniazid(INH),Rifampicin(RPF), Pyrazinamide(PZA) anti-tuberculosis composite graft inRabbits.METHODS36rabbits from New Zealand were randomly divided into A,B and Cgroups of12rabbits each. A and B groups include12rabbits respectively whichhave been made to be the model of spinal tuberculosis successfully. C groupincludes12healthy rabbits. A group implanted a osteoset/polymeric amino acid-INH,RPF,PZA anti-tuberculosis composite graft.B and C groups were implanted witha osteoset-polymeric amino acid composite graft. The animals were sacrificedat2,4,8and16weeks after surgery. Specimens were obtained from callus of unitedand repaired region for histologic and ultra structural examination.RESULTS It was found that osteoset/polymeric amino acid-IHN,RPF,PZAanti-tuberculosis composite graft on defect healing had better promoting effect.CONCLUSION The anti-tuberculosis composite graft has both internalfixation and promoting bony defect healing. Therefore, it offered thesignificant theory for the usage of clinic.
