OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effects of nasojejunal nutrition on the gastric secretionand get more evidence for reasonable tube feeding selection.METHODS:According to the Guidelines for enteral feeding in adult hospital patients,30critically ill patients were included in this study. Patients wererandomized to feeding by either the nasogastric(NG) or the nasojejunal(NJ).Set up a endpoint while feeding for7days. Gastrin was tested4times whenfeeding was finished during the1st3rd5th&7th day. Extract gastric juiceevery4-6hours while feeding and test the PH. Test serum albumin levels inthe1st and7th day. Collect the data of complications such as gastricretention aspiration and aspiration pneumonia. Analyze all the data withSPSS13.0.RESULTS:1. Serum gastrin levels of NJ group is lower than NG group(significantlydifferent),While PH value of NJ group is significant higher than NG group.2. NJ group achieved targeted energy delivered earlier than NG group. Nosignificant different in tolerance between2groups after one week feeding.3.No significant different among aspiration, gastric retention, Pneumonia,Serum albumin between2groups.CONCLUSIONS:Serum gastrin level in NJ feeding patients is lower than NG whichcause a less gastric acid secretion. Both of them improved nutritional status.NG feeding was not inferior to NJ in enteral nutrition.
