[Objective]To detect the expression of EPOR in prostate cancer by immunohistochemical method, analysis the relationship between the expression of EPOR and MVD, in order to explore the relationship between the expression of EPOR and tumor angiogenesis in prostate cancer and its clinical significance.[Methods]1. Detecting the expression of EPOR in prostate cancer tissue52cases and benign prostatic hyperplasia tissue52cases by mmunohistochemical method. Analyzing the differences of EPOR expression between prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia and relationship with clinical pathologic factors.2. Detecting the microvessel in prostate cancer tissue and benign prostatic hyperplasia tissue by CD34immunohistochemical staining, and calculating the value of MVD, for analyzing the relationship between the expression of EPOR and tumor angiogenesis and its clinical significance.[Results]1. The expression levels of EPOR in prostate cancer was higher than benign prostatic hyperplasia. The distinction between the sites is marked (P=0.001), The expression levels of EPOR in stagesIII+IVwas higher than those in stages Ⅰ+Ⅱ.The diference between them were significant (P=0.021),The expression of EPOR were unrelated to age, PSA, f/t PSA, as well as Gleason score (P>0.05).2. MVD in prostate cancer was higher than benign prostatic hyperplasia. The distinction between the sites is marked (P=0.003), MVD in stages III+IVwas higher than those in stages Ⅰ+Ⅱ.The diference between them were significant (P=0.006). The MVD were unrelated to age, PSA, f/t PSA, as well as Gleason score (P>0.05).3. MVD in stages III+IVwas higher than those in stages Ⅰ+Ⅱ. The diference between them were significant (P=0.006). The expression levels of EPOR in prostate cancer was positive related with MVD(r=0.473,P=0.000).[Conclusions]1. EPOR is high expressed in prostate cancer, low expressed in benign prostatic hyperplasia, the expression of EPOR in prostate cancer tissue is associated with the clinical stage of tumor.2. MVD in prostate cancer is higher than benign prostatic hyperplasia, and is associated with the clinical stage of tumor.3. The expression of EPOR in prostate cancer is positively correlation with MVD, closely related to tumor angiogenesis.
