Objective: A comprehensive study on the effect of health management wasdone to compare health management for diabetes patient with the control group, including on glucose metabolism, life style and the quality of life and other aspects..To explore the effective management mode for the patients with diabetes mellitus, and provide the reference for promoting the health management for diabetes and otherchronic diseases patients.Method:119outpatients with diabetes were investigated with questionnaire andpersonal examination.59of them were distributed into intensive group and the other60were into control group. Patients in intensive group were given systematic healthmanagement for3months, including information collection and electronic filesestablishment, healthy education, informal discussion, quantitative diet and exercisemanagement, psychological counseling et. The examination indexes included length, weight, body mass index, waistline, blood pressure, fasting plasma glucose,2hoursplasma glucose, HbAlc, total cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein, lowdensity lipoprotein et. Input the data with Microsoft Excel software and analyze thedata with SPSS19.0.Result: After3months health management for the intensive group, the index ofweight, the BMI,waistline, the blood pressure,HbAlc, fasting and2hours plasmaglucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein of intensive group decreased, and the change of these indexes weresignificant (P<0.05).The change of fasting plasma glucose of control group weresignificant.(P<0.05),while other indexes of control group were not significant(P>0.05).And the lost of the weight, body mass index, systolic blood preasure, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein of intensive group weresignificantly better than that of control group. After3months intervention, the way oflife improved obviously, the total exercise and effective exercise quantity andeffective exercise/total exercise all has the obvious increase, the difference wasstatistically significant(P<0.01). And the number of reasonable diets increasedsignificantly. According to living quality after3months of health management, astatistically significant (P<0.01) decrease was observed in intensive group in thefollowing parameters: evaluation of living quality, disease dimension, biologicaldimension, and satisfaction dimension. In addition, the decreased degree in intensivegroup was also lower than that in control group. But there was no difference (P>0.05)in society dimension among two groups. Conclusion:After the health management, the indexes and the quality of life ofintensive group were better. It is proved that the model of diabetes health managementwere worth studying and promoting.
