Biochar is alkaline, with a special physical and chemical properties, has greater value in use in all aspects of industrial, agricultural and environmental and ecological protection. In recent years, studies about the effect of biochar to improve soil acidity scholars are increasingly becoming a problem of concern. The citrus orchards in southern China had a large number of distributed on acidic soils, and improving soil for the healthy development of the citrus industry has an important significance. In this study, through pot experiments, applying different dosage biochar and chemical analysis, to explore the dynamic changes and physicochemical properties of the strongly acidic red soil and weakly acidic yellow brown soil for the South China. And also studying the influence of Newhall navel orange anvil growth conditions with biochar under different conditions of nutrient levels, to promote the use of biochar acidic soil improvement provide a scientific basis. The main results as follows:1. The application of biochar have a greater impact on physical and chemical properties of the red soil and the yellow brown soil. There are some differences on the effects of different soils.(1) For the red soil, biochar can significantly increase soil pH and adjust the soil acidity, while increasing soil organic matter, phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen content, and with increasing application rate, the effect is more obvious.(2)Yellow brown soil adding biochar can increase soil pH, increased organic matter, phosphorus, potassium content, but the nitrogen content of the soil had no significant effect, and the increase of the yellow brown soil was less than the red soil.(3)Biochar application rate increased to2.0%, the effect of improving the soil was best.2. The different biochar treatment have different effects on navel orange seedling growth and development. Single application of biochar can promote early growth of navel orange, but the latter may limit the growth of plants due to lack of nutrients; and biochar mixed with the base fertilizer applied can promote growth of the navel orange during the whole growth period.3. Different biochar treatment have different effects on the seeding growth of navel orange. The overall performance of fresh weight and dry weight for each part of navel orange was:reduced with biochar increasing when supplied only with biochar, only with base fertilizer supplied increased slightly, base fertilizer and biochar mixed significantly increased the biomass. Than the overall performance of shoot and root ratio was increased with increasing amounts of biochar, and base fertilizer and biochar mixed increased more obvious.4. Different biochar treatment have different effects on the soluble protein and soluble sugar content of navel orange leaves. Without base fertilizer supplied the soluble protein content of navel orange leaves showed that significantly reduced after biochar treatment; supplied with base fertilizer the soluble protein content was significantly higher than that of the corresponding treatment without base fertilizer. Without base fertilizer supplied the soluble sugar content of navel orange leaves also showed that significantly reduced after biochar treatment; supplied with base fertilizer the soluble sugar content was significantly lower than that of the corresponding treatment without base fertilizer, but significantly increased with the increase of biochar.5. Applying biochar have a large influence on the nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium content of each part of navel orange. Nitrogen content reduced with the increased amount of biochar, but phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium content increased with the increased amount of biochar.6. Applying biochar also have a greater impact on the accumulation of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium and other elements of each part of navel orange. When only applied biochar, nitrogen accumulation of each part of navel orange reduced with the increased amount of biochar, then the accumulation of phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium increased with the biochar increased; supplied with base fertilizer the accumulation content was significantly higher than that of the corresponding treatment without base fertilizer; with base fertilizer supplied, nitrogen accumulation of each part of navel orange first increased then reduced with the increased amount of biochar, and the accumulation of phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium increased with the biochar increased.7. There is obvious influence for carbon fertilizer interaction on the physicochemical properties of acid red soil planted with navel orange. Application of1%-2%biochar increased0.45-0.96pH value units of the red soil, decreased the red soil acidity, and biochar mixed with base fertilizer could decrease or eliminate the acidification effects of single application of fertilizer on the red soil. The application of biochar significantly increased organic carbon content of the red soil, and also raised the content of mineral nutrition elements, with the most obvious of the available potassium content. Application of biochar can significantly improve other basic indicators of soil:such as increasing soil conductivity, CEC, exchangeable base capacity and base saturation, and applying biochar mixed with base fertilizer the effect is more significant; applying biochar can significantly reduce soil active aluminum content, and the higher the biochar supplied, the more obvious the effect.
