Corn straw is a tremendous potential reproducible biomass resource which hasnot been developed sufficiently. Corn straw as livestock fodder substituted for feed ispositive significance, which will relieve the pressure in animal husbandry. The pelletshave some advantages with easy storage and unautomatic classification, etc. Thispaper mainly studies on the fermentation parameters of corn straw and granulationparameters. The raw materials were collected from the farmland nearby the Henan UniversityScience and Technology in Luoyang. There were three parts in the experiments.Firstly, the corn straw was degradation by the special fermentation agent of straw. The conditions on degradation of corn straw are optimized by the general rotatorycomposed design. The results showed that the optimum technological conditions werefermentation time5.3d, fermentation temperature of31.4℃, water content62.0%,and inoculation amount1.87%. According to the above conditions, the degradation ofcrude fiber reached to44.69%.Secondly, the flour of corn straw with degradation was pelletted to granulefeedstuff. The influences of and water on forming rate of granular feed were examinedrespectively by the experiments of single factor. Through regression analysis, additionamount of corn flour35%, adding amount of water25%, and the molding rate ofgranule feedstuff of corn straw reached highest. Finally, there were three factors including diameter of model hole, the distance ofblade and template and adding amount of water in the orthogonal experiment. The bestparameters of granule feedstuff of corn straw were obtained by orthogonal experiment, which can provide technical supports for enterprises. By weighted comprehensiveindex value, the primary factor was distance of blade and template adding amount ofwater. Secondary factors were diameter of model hole, the distance of blade andtemplate. The influence of diameter of model hole was more significant than adding amount of water. The best combination of parameters were diameter of model hole of4mm, the distance of blade and template20mm, adding amount of water25%.According to the conditions above, the degradation of crude fiber reached to44.69%.Comprehensive indexes of the granule feedstuff were best. This work will provide technical and theoretical supports in corn straw pellet feedproduction.
