With the continuous expansion of the planting area of machine-picked cotton, picking cotton by machine, not only have relieved the tension of cotton picking labor effectively, but also have reduced the cost of cotton picking significantly, and have promoted the operation profit space of contract workers. According to statistics, during the"11th Five-Year" period, Xinjiang will spend20billion to purchasing1094set of cotton picker, to realize the goal of all cotton picking by machine, the number of cottonpicker required will reach5,000set. Each cotton picker is configured with5-6spindlegroups normally. Each group needs288-480spindles. At present the price of spindleimported is around$70, so the demanding of market is very great. The artificial picked cotton has become a bottlenecks to restricting the production of cotton in Xinjiang.Significantly achieve to get mechanized cotton picker has been imperative. The pick ingot used in horizontal cotton picker is the key components of cotton-picking machine. it is can easy to get abraded,thus affecting the efficiency of cotton picker production and pick net rate. Since it is expensive and dependent on imports, which lead to the cost increase greatly.it urgent need of to achieve localization.Horizontal spindle-type cotton picker is a mainstream product of large self-propelledcotton pickers, which is largely adopted due to its higher picking rate. Currently in theXinjiang region, most of cotton pickers are using horizontal spindle-type picking heads. Thehorizontal spindle-type picking head, as one important part of a cotton picker, the quality of itplays a vital role in improving the performance and efficiency of the cotton picker, reducingmanufacturing costs and other aspects. Therefore, the research on the mechanicalmanufacturing processes and technology of horizontal spindle-type cotton picker is practicallymeaningful.(1)The combination of spectroscopy and chemical methods to analysis the compositionof three kinds of spindle, conclude that three elements of spindle and material mark.(2) The experiment was carried out on three samples at room temperature tensileproperties test, and compared the three sample’s intensity, elongation.1#homemade spindleof tensile strength and yield strength is higher, the yield strength are higher than the rest of thetwo samples;2#Israel spindle has the highest tensile strength, but its elongation was lowerthan those of the rest of the two kinds of samples; Minimum4#the spindle strength,elongation and1#are the same.(3)Using metallographic microscope and scanning electron microscopy (sem) combinedwith the analysis of the three kinds of spindle organization characteristics of carburized layer and the substrate the core. Organizations are mainly of three kinds of spindle the core iscomposed of lath martensite, surface for carburizing and quenching of needle martensitestructure. The center of the1#and carburized layer of martensite structure is more small than2#,4#.(4) A combination of scanning electron microscopy (sem) and energy spectrum basedmethods for three kinds of spindle of the surface of the coating, thickness and so on areanalyzed. Three kinds of sample surface have Cr plating layer. Plating thickness:2#Israelspindle coating is the most thick,1#homemade spindle coating the most thin, the thicknessof4#the spindle center. Overall,1#homemade spindle coating surface is not smooth,combined with the matrix is poorer, plating thickness slants thin, these will affect the wearresistance of coating.The research result of this topic will provides the theory basis For domestic developmentwith independent intellectual property rights cotton-picking machine spindle materialprocessing technology and core technology, mechanical operation in xinjiang cotton hasimportant significance and broad application prospects.
