The roller-spindles cotton picker has become the important picking machinery in china,which withthe advantage of the low production costs,high picking net rate,big harvest areas and high operating speedhas been promated and applicated on some extent in the cotton growing areas of Xinjiang.However, with anumber of factors what the restrictions on the level of domestic production,the different cotton-growingmode,less research in picking mechanism,the all-harvest cotton picker has the shortcomings in cottontransporting, the cotton picking inpurity rate and low harvest efficiency which has obstructed its furtherdevelopment seriously.Picking head is the core component of cotton picker harvesting, it works good or bad will directlyaffect the comprehensive assessment of the cotton picker, also related to the economic interests of cottongrowers.The structure of the all harvest cotton picker head is reasonable or not will affect the quality of thepicking operation(picking net rate,impurity rate),it will also the effect which the picked cotton is conveyedout of the picking head and the preliminary separation between cotton and impurities.The structure of the roller-spindles cotton picker has been optimized through the method ofinvestigation and analysis,theoretical analysis combine with virtual simulation which has provided the basictheoretical foundation for the improvement of the roller-spindles cotton picker.The research status of the all harvest cotton pocking at home and abroad has been discussed whichfocused on the structure and working principle of the picking head in this text. The cotton planting density,cotton stalk diameter, boll weight, boll density, density of cotton stalks,the cotton quanlity on the one plant,the connectivity between cotton cotton and boll, boll shell and fruiting, boll and fruiting branches, fruitingfruiting branches and cotton stems, it laid the foundation for the picking head design.The forces of thecotton while the all harvest cotton picker works has been analyzed, which can help us understanding theworking principle of the all harvest cotton picker and provide the necessary theoretical basis for the designof the cotton picker. The structure of picking head has been optimized by using Fluent software whichsimulated the flow field of picking head.While add the baffles and inlet can reduce the vortex and increasethe inflow velocity, flow field characteristics have been greatly improved, improved the work stability ofthe pick head and material handling quality and it is best when the two inflow at15m/s.mechanicalconveyor which can solve the problem of cotton seed delivery and some impurities separate,which providea good environment for the cotton processing and clean.The dynamic analysis of roller-spindles has beenmade and the dynamic equations has been established,we can reach this conclusion that polyester plastic isbetter for the material of roller-spindles after the mechanical analysis has been made by Ansys.The motionsimulation of roller-spindles has been made by Adams,we obtained the displacement curve of the sprindle,speed and acceleration curve on the different place of the sprindle,which verify the correctness ofkinematics and dynamics analysis and provide a theoretical basis for the work what optimiz the pickinghead.
