Toxoplasma gondii is very popular in domestic animals, and poultry. Although single infection can not cause obvious clinical symptoms, but once the secondary cause mixed infection of other diseases, the consequence will be unbearable, The mortality of chicken will be greatly increased,and also increase the complexity and the cost of treatment of the disease, causing economic loss. Therefore,it has a very important significance of strengthening the research on prevention and control of toxoplasmosis for human health.Human infect the disease through contacting with livestock products and the animals which infected toxoplasmosis, which seriously threatens human health.In recent years, many reports about pigs,cattle, sheep and other livestock animal infected with Toxoplasma gondii, but it is very rare on the investigation of chicken toxoplasmosis. The data shows,although the research on Toxoplasma gondii reported in domestic is very rare, but the prevalence of toxoplasmosis is far beyond people’s expectations, the damage is also increased year by year.Because the chicken products is one of the main food for human,chicken health status directly affect human health, so the inspection and quarantine in chicken should be strictly controlled, in order to make the human health is not threatened and using the healthy chicken products, so the degree of infection of Toxoplasma gondii should be paid attention.In the practice of the production process, Toxoplasma gondii in chicken is either pure or mixed infection, it shoud have diagnosis and treatment timely, we shoud make the degree of harm smaller. Therefore, we should Strengthen the research on Toxoplasmosis, understanding the epidemiology of Toxoplasma gondii and actively carrying out of chickens infected with Toxoplasma gondii, we shoud study the relationship between chicken, human, other animal and Toxoplasmosis.The area in Jingzhou of the poultry industry was developed, at the same time, the Toxoplasmosis was very extensive, in order to understand the epidemic situation in Jingzhou. In November,2011, we made a serologic survey of Toxoplasma gondii in different breeding chicken the scale and purpose of chicken by IHA method in Jingzhou, the test of696chicken samples from7different county (city, district) were detected positive antibody, the average positive rate was22.7%. According to the test, the positive rate of Shashi was the highest, the result was44.79%, the positive rate of Gongan is the lowest, the result was2.5%, The result of Honghu, Jiangling, Jingzhou, Songzi, Jianli and Jingzhou are between Shashi and Gongan, the7different county (city, district) detection results were very different, due to the breeding and production management level, the positive rate of large-scale farming was significantly lower than that of Scatter-feed mode, such as the Gongan scale farming test results for2.5%, significantly lower than the scatter way in Shashi. There were some reasons related to the local environment, parts of Toxoplasma gondii was more serious pollution, poor sanitation, disinfection was not strict enough, also can appear large-scale farming but infection rate high, such as the Jianli, which the test results was34.8%. Reducding the chicken Toxoplasma gondii infection rate was not only to improve the feeding mode, but also to improve the production environment, cutting off the route of transmission and provide a good growth environmentmf or chicken.Infections by Toxoplasma gondii are widely prevalent inanimala and humans throughout the world. It is estimated that around25%of the world human population is carrying the parasite. A recent paper reviewed worldwide reports of clinical toxoplasmosis in experimentally and naturally infected chickens concluded that clinical toxoplasmosis is rare in chickens. However, free-range chickens are considered as one of the most important hosts in the epidemiology of Toxoplasma gondii infection because they are an efficient source of infection for both cats that excrete the environmentally resistant oocysts and humans who may become infected with this parasite after eating undercooked infected chicken meat. So, FR chickens are considered an important indicator of soil contamination with the environmentally resistant oocysts of Toxoplasma gondii. so the research in chicken of toxoplasmosis has important public health implications.
