Distribution Status And Application Analysis Of Colorful Plants In Xi’an

Color leaf plants is an important part of city landscape architecture, it can make up thelack of general plants, rich colors of the city. In recent years, too many color leaf plants havehad a lot of application, but so far, its planting methods, configuration types, landscapefeatures and resources development had no comprehensive summary of research anddiscussion.This paper mainly focuses on color leaf plants species in Xi’an botanical gardenapplication present situation, investigates and research the configuration status and theapplication and in the main city roads, parks, squares, residential areas and enterprise orbusiness units configuration of colored plants in green space in Xi’an,checked out all kinds ofdifferent types of colored plants its application ways.Through field surveys and studies, the following findings:1、There are about98kinds of colorful plants which come from40familys and66classes in Xi’an,and the local species are54kinds which occupy55.1%and the introducedspecies are43kinds which occupy44.9%. Arbors are43kinds that occupy43.9%, bushs are40kinds that occupy40.8%, herbs are9kinds that occupy9.2%, lianes are6kinds thatoccupy6.1%; the spring colorful species are10kinds that occupy9.7%, fall colorful plantsare40kinds that occupy38.8%, concolourous leaf plants are53kinds that occupy51.5%;homochromatism plants are77kinds that occupy78.6%, purfle plants are10kinds thatoccupy9.8%, variegated leaf plants are8kinds that occupy8.2%, two-tone color plants areonly2kinds that occupy2.0%, colorful venation plants is just1kind that occupy1.0%.2、 In the application of color leaf plants, fall color leaf plants and all year color leafplants are much more than the spring’s; homochromy color leaf plants take a lagre percentas to the two-tune color,purfle stripe and variegated leaf; More exotic trees application, nativetree species is less; large quantity of bush such as red barberry are numerous.But few are Baneand herb; small color blocks suah as green belts, the hedge,the flower beds,the flower-strewncan be saw in the most greenlands,but coleus trees in big color blocks which are formed witharbor are few.3、Colorful plants is not very rich in Xi’an and have few species in application. Greatopportunities is existence in the development of colorful plants. This means that there is great development space and potential,and the domesticated and local populations of wild plantresources need to be developed. The configuration methods of color leaf plants in landscapeare too simple and the same,and have few configuration modes of rich meaning and uniqueconnotation. Because of he limitation of the climate conditions, geographic location, soil andthe maintenance management,many color leaf plants especially some trees in the south cannoteasylly adapt to the cultivation conditions in Xi’an or they cannot completely rendered its bestornamental effect.This paper attempts to provide referential basis for the research of color leaf plants andconstruction to the garden design in Guanzhong area through such preliminary research ofcolor leaf plants.
