Study On Continuing Education Of Agricultral And Rural Talent Relying On Agricultrual University

Talent is the fundamental power to make the country powerful. Agricultural and rural area talent is an important part of the talent team in China, playing a vital role in the development of modern agriculture and in the construction of a new socialist countryside. However, the traditional agricultural and rural talents are far from adapting to the demands of the development of modern society. Continuing education is an important part of the lifelong learning system. Yet, lacking the teaching ability, many educational institutions can not meet the needs of continuing education to a large number of farmers. In the case of the current situation, this research focuses on how to develop local agricultural colleges and universities, as the teaching body, to help farmers enhancing their levels of knowledge and scientific understanding. The thesis is divided in the following four parts:1. The clarification of the background and significance of the research. The part introduces the conceptions of both continuing education and agricultural and rural area talent. Then based on the foreign research of continuing education’s origin and the advanced methods in the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan, it describes the domestic research in continuing education and the necessity for carrying out continuing education towards agricultural and rural talents.2. The introduction to the main channel of personnel training in agriculture and rural areas, and then elaborates the advantages and means of agricultural colleges and universities to carry out the education for agricultural and rural talents. Finally notes that it is an important means to cultivate agricultural and rural talents with continuing education by relying agricultural colleges and universities.3. According to the current situation of the agricultural and rural area talents’continuing education in Jiangxi Province, it brings forth the idea of extending the agricultural and rural talents’ continuing education. Then elaborates a variety of practices Jiangxi Agricultural University is vigorously carrying out by making use of its advantages to develop agricultural and rural personnel continuing education. JXAU makes use of its unique geographical and resource advantages and sets up a specialized further education college to foster agricultural and rural talent. It can also undertake the teaching mission of the "One Village One College Student Project" in Jiangxi Province, and improves local farmers’ education and the level of knowledge.4. Ideas and conception of Jiangxi Agricultural University for agricultural and rural talents’ continuing education. JXAU must consolidate and expand the academic education of the agricultural and rural talent, making great efforts to develop non-academic education and innovating teaching mode and methods to foster modern agricultural and rural talent as well as meeting the evolving needs of the social development.
