Camellia oleifera Abel is one of the trees of our unique woody edible oil, which has a long history of cultivation, wide suitable range, high economic value and ecological functions, occupies an important position in the southern forest industry. Hubei Province, located in the northern margin of the Camellia distribution, where the low temperature caused great impact on the afforestation and growth of the Camellia, and becomes the restrictions for Camellia’s promotion. The research objects are the Camellia of Changlin and Eyou series cultivars that mainly to be promoted in Hubei Province. Determination of physiological and biochemical indexes under different temperatures’ and different time’s low temperature stress conditions. Then we do the ten Camellia cultivars’ comprehensive evaluation of cold resistance, the research results are as follows:1. In the process of different low temperature stress, as the temperature dropped,10Camellia cultivars’ physiological and biochemical indicators change in the overall trend is very close, but on cultivars are different from each other. According on the various cultivars, Eyou151, Eyou102and Changlin27’s electrolyte leakage and MDA content are in smaller, proline, soluble sugar, soluble protein content and SOD activity are in larger. While Eyou81, Eyou465and Changlin23’s electrolyte leakage and MDA content are bigger, proline, soluble sugar, soluble protein content and SOD activity are in smaller. The cold tolerance of ten Camellia cultivars obtained by fuzzy subordination method in descending order is:Changlin27>Eyou151>Eyou465>Eyou63>Eyou102>Changlin40>Changlin23> Changlin4>Eyou81>Eyou54.2. In the process of different time’s low temperature stress, ten Camellia cultivars’ physiological and biochemical indicators change in the overall trend is basically the same, but there is a big difference among cultivars. Judging from the various cultivars, Eyou102, Eyou151’s electrolyte leakage and MDA content are in smaller, proline content, soluble sugar content, soluble protein content and SOD activity are in larger. While Eyou81, Eyou63and Changlin23’s electrolyte leakage and MDA content are bigger, proline, soluble sugar, soluble protein content and SOD activity are in smaller. By fuzzy membership function method, we obtain the result is:Eyou102>Eyou151>Changlin27>Eyou54>Eyou465>Eyou81>Changlin23>Changlin40>Eyou63>Changlin4.3. According to the different temperature of the low temperature stress of low temperature treatment and different times of stress principal component analysis of physiological indexes measured10camellia varieties in the process, found that correlation between the two processes physiological indicators are not totally consistent.But to be sure is that, electrolyte leakage and MDA content show a strong positive correlation, soluble sugar content, soluble protein content and SOD activity also show a strong positive correlation. Integrated the different low temperatures’stress and different time’s low temperature treatments in the principal component analysis of physiological indexes, the results can be seen, the SOD activity, MDA content, electrolyte leakage and soluble protein content and the relationship between cold tolerance of Camellia is closer, as an important indicator of the evaluation of the Camellia cold resistance, proline and soluble sugar content can be used as Camellia’s reference on evaluating cold tolerance.4. Integrated different physiological and biochemical indicators of changes in the temperature of the low temperature stress and low temperature stress process, obtained in ten Camellia cultivars:Eyou151and Changlin27’s cold tolerance are strongest and relatively stable, Changlin4’s cold tolerance relatively weakest, other Camellia cultivars of cold resistance centered. |
