| Due to much more environmental pollution caused by foam plastics such as EPS and EPE, along with the domestic forestry resources crisis, people start to pay more and more attention to research on biodegradable cushion packaging materials which are more environmental friendly. This paper use wood residual fiber as main material, mix starch and polyvinyl alcohol together according to a certain proportion to prepare substrate adhesive, put in a certain amount foaming agent and other addition agent to manufacture a degradable cushion material. It can meet the demand of material’s environmental friendly international tendency, and it will be of great significance for ecological economy development.This paper use single factor experimental method to determine the scope of raw materials formula, then design a multiple factors and levels experiment scheme by response surface design method based on the results of the single factor experiments. Through quadratic polynomial stepwise regression modeling to analysis the results data, undertake further optimize experiment and verify it, then get the best raw materials formula as follows:wood residual fiber34g, starch/PVA2:1, foaming agent6g, talcum powder4g, glycerol10ml, VAE emulsion10ml, borax solution10ml.Use one-step molding process to mould cushion packaging material, design an experiment scheme by Design Expert software and undertake that. Set up a regression model by the results and make variance analysis with that, then get the best process parameters as follows:Heat up the system to105℃and control this temperature for5minutes, then go on to155℃, control the molding pressure at2Mpa and keep that for12minutes, after that cool down the system to90℃and get the final product.Prepare product samples according to the best raw material formula and the best process parameter. Verification tests show that performance indicators of this material are as follows: density0.201g/cm3, compressive strength0.74MPa, resilience ratio82.1%which give a very nice overall performance.Analyze the foaming mechanism of the cushion material as well as its influencing factors. Results show that its molding process is heating up foam, the bubble nucleation is heterogeneous nucleation. The system’s viscosity and temperature are the most two important factors that affect the properties of this material. Analysis on the material’s macroscopic structure and microscopic structure indicates that using the higher mesh wood residual fiber to prepare products will make better performances. |
