Pavement,which plays an irreplaceable role in residential landscape design,is one important element of landscape composition,but it is also often overlooked by designers.Residential area is important space to people’s residence and lives,the quality of the overall landscape in residential areas is directly affectd by practical function and landscape effect of pavement design, thus affecting the comfort of people living and Residents’ sense of belonging.The psychological needs of people’s living environment should be more focused on particularly in Pavement design of residential areas,in order to create a good living space environment,which can meet different types of needs and different hierarchy of needs for different people.Humanized design methods and strategies in residential areas’pavement design are researched in this thesis through theoretical research,survey analysis,case compare and practice in combination with theory.Based on relationship between environment and human psychology, behavioral interactions,the relationships between pavement design’s attributes and people’s psychological perception,behavioral feedback are analyzed.Transverse and longitudinal study for pavement landscape design in residential areas are spreaded based on the above research:first,the investigation and analysis of the corresponding pavement design strategies are studied in view of people psychological needs on each type of residential space environment;secondly,pavement design strategies under different positioning of residential areas are analyzed combined with actual case;finally, the pavement design principles and methods derived from this thesis research are applied and validated in rose garden demonstration design practice of China Oversea Property company.
