At present, applications of spatial structure in engineering develop rapidly. Spatial structure is usually divided into the thin shell structure, membrane structure, cable structure, network and grid shell structure.Compared with other several forms, the most common form-spatial grid structure form has regular structural arrangement, and is convenient to production, transportation and installation. Simple structure and reasonable force also contributes to its wide use. However, many of the structures are damaged due to the problems of the design, construction, use and maintenance in the process, and shorten its life. And the damaged parts may well lead to the collapse of the entire structure, resulting in a serious accident. Thus, regular maintenance and reinforcement are crucial, especially with little expenses and high security of the structures. Meanwhile, grid structure has little bad effects on the surroundings, which will offer more economic and social benefits. Therefore, regular inspection and maintenance of the existing grid structure and are needed, and researches on reinforcement methods which will guide the design and construction of structural reinforcement of the existing framework are crucially needed.Based on the problems coming from a wide range of applications in practical engineering spatial grid structure and its practical use force state, and the reinforcement program, this article analyses and researches on the following contents:(1) Detailed analysis of the problems immerging from practical using of spatial grid structure and their causes and a detailed introduction of the following methods, such as CFRP, steel, casing, prestress and other methods.(2) Describes the method of analyzing grid structure by using the large general-purpose finite element software ANSYS. Modeling, static and dynamic methods are also introduced. And a case based on space grid structure by using the finite element software will analyses comparatively the effectiveness of the steel reinforcement and casing reinforcement methods.(3) This paper takes an example to, based on the above ANSYS rationale, analyze the mechanical characteristics of the structure under different reinforcement schemes, which would help determine the final reinforcement scheme.
