In aerospace engineering, the step motor is widely utilized because of its simplicity and reliability. The step motor is a kind of special motor, as it transforms the digital pulse into rotatory and linear increments, with fast start-stop, precision step, no cumulative errors, etc. The step motor utilized in the satellite drive mechanism is adopted to achieve the satellite attitude control, orientation rotation of the satellite solar array.In order to realize precise control of satellite operation, and provide a fundamental instruction for the design of the drive mechanism and selection of the motor, it is necessary to accomplish a comprehensive test of the step motor in performance. Currently, there are still a number of shortcomings in the performance testing of the domestic step motor, further development and research should be of great significance in the automation and integration measurements of test system, the accuracy of the testing date and data management. To promote the development of the domestic aerospace industry and improve the performance testing efficiency and accuracy of the step motor, this paper proposes an intact performance testing system of the step motor.First of all, the paper thoroughly analyzes the principles and characteristics of two-phase hybrid stepping motor on the basis of the existing motor performance test system. And then it proposes a new test system based on the virtual instrument technology of the Lab VIEW platform, using the angle sensor, torque sensor, eddy current sensor and accelerometer to complete the measurement of the motor performance. The test system uses the R-series intelligent acquisition card PXI-7852of the National Instruments Company based on FPGA to development the user-defined function model.Secondly, this paper designs hardware platform of the motor performance testing system. According to the integrated test requirements, design the flexible and reliable mechanical structure and ensure the frock accuracy. At the same time, design a reliable electric connection for the motor drive system and sensor test system. In order to solve the problem of the signal compatibility, a dedicated signal interface module is developed.Then, it carries out a detailed design and research of the testing software. Using the Lab VIEW FPGA module, which develops the motor control module and signal acquisition module. And then develops a communication interface program between the lower position machine FPGA and the host computer. Finish the design of host computer, which contains motor control, data processing, display, preservation and other application on the basis on the embedded controller.Finally, it completes the performance testing experiments of the step motor, using digital filter, curve fitting and time-frequency analysis data processing algorithm to make a detailed analysis of the testing content and testing data. After that it estimates the testing system.The successful testing results illustrate that the testing system is stable, accurate and flexible. It provides an effective solution for the test of precision step motor using in the satellite drive mechanism.
