With the development of automobile industry, finding a car in the large-scale park is becoming more and more difficult for the users. For the special and various environments in the park, traditional outdoor localization methods can’t target the locale object accurately.As one of the indoor localization techniques, Wi-Fi position system has the special advantage in network stability, resistance to interference and high transfer speed. What’s more, almost every smart terminal installs Wi-Fi devices. Therefore, Wi-Fi position is easily realized, as well as low-cost. However, the traditional positioning algorithm based on received signal strength indicator has high complexity and cannot be used in giant parking lots.Based on the above requirements, an improved positioning algorithm is proposed in this paper. This algorithm can reduce the complexity and guarantee the precision in some degree. Therefore, this algorithm applies to giant parking lots. What’s more, a Wi-Fi position system depending on Android is designed in this paper. In this system, users can find the position of the target as soon as possible by the application installed on the Android terminal.The system is made up of three parts:client running on the Android, background program running on the server and information management web site.The client is an Android application which is installed on the terminal. This paper introduces every module in the client part, including initial module, function selection module, received signal strength library updating module and the interface for position result.There are three parts in the introduction of server software. The first one mainly explains the database implementation, and the data structures in database are also given in the system. The second one is about the design and implementation of background software running on the server. The database operations and the location algorithm are implemented in this part. The third one introduces how the website is developed. The website uses B-S structure, establishing a bridge of communications between administrators and the server.Finally, the paper gives the test procedure of the software system and analysis for the test results. The process of the software release with digital signature is also introduced in this part.
