The electrocardiogram(ECG)machine is a medical instrument that automatically records the bioelectrical signals generated by cardiac activation(ECG signals)into the electrocardiogram,the recorder is an element used to record the waveform of the electrocardiogram.Android has advantages like opensource,user-friendly and supporting of mainstream interface.Printer is a kind of device that prints electronic documents on paper and is widely used in homes and offices.The implementation of printer as recorder of ECG machine running on Android can make up for the original recorders' defects,and meets the portable and household trend of the ECG machine.The main context of this paper are implementation of ECG outputting through printers and optimization of output effect of electrocardiogram images based on Android system.A document-printing program and a program of ECG drawing and optimization on Android system are proposed;applications of these programs are to achieve portability and household characteristics of ECG machine and to extend the usage occasions of ECG machine.First,the development trend of electrocardiogram recorder and the trend of Android platform in the field of medical equipment are summarized,and the engineering application values of the project are analyzed and the research goals are established.Referring to research goal and fundations,the overall architecture of ECG drawing,waveform optimizing and report printing are constructed,and the functional and performance requirements on both ECG drawing and documents printing are analyzed.Then,the function structure of printing based on USB connection are analyzed,kernel configuring,GhostScript compiling and drivers installing are implemented and method of receiving printers status is practiced.Utilizing APIs provided by Android Print Framework,the printing function based on WiFi connection are also implemented.Besides,waveform drawing by utilizing drawing APIs of Android is implemented,algorithms to adapt to the output resolutions and to reain extremums are utlized,and ECG reports transformed as Bitmaps and saved as PDF files.At last,functional tests and performance tests performed on real platform and optimizations on problems found in tests are described in this paper.
