Plain reservoires are the main water storage projects in northern China, and dams are mostly earth and rockfill dam which built by local materials. Earth and rockfill dam has characteristics of long dam,strong permeability, low dam height, dike big difference on both sides of the water level, etc. Dams are widespread destruction of leakage problems, it’s a serious threat to the security and stability of dam.The dam foundation seepage control is the key point of the plain reservoir dam seepage. There are horizontal seepage control and vertical seepage control of two types. Vertical seepage control is through the establishment of a closed vertical diaphragm wall or curtain to truncate the seepage. To a certain extent, the seepage failure can effect a radical cure for seepage control. The seepage prevention effect is good. In the case of technical conditions permited and the economic reasonable prevention measures should be preferred. Because of the strong adaptability to the formation and the cost is low, the cut-off wall is currently the most widely used and fastest growing vertical seepage control measure. Because the plastic concrete has more excellent engineering characteristics and economical efficiency than Rigid concrete, it’s widely used in engineering practice.Plain reservoir used more the cut-off wall in the front of the dam or dam crest cut-off wall for seepage control. But for the completed dam seepage control, the cut-off wall in the front of the dam will polluted water easily and affect the normal operation of engineering. The quantity of Crest diaphragm wall is big, long construction period and large investment. Because of the defects and limitations, after the dam cut-off wall measure of Plain reservoir is put forward in this paper.On the basis of related literature at home and abroad, summarize the seepage failure forms, percolation theory and analysis methods of plain reservoir dam. Jinan YuQingHu reservoir dam seepage control as an example. Make a study on seepage experiment of typical section to obtain seepage analysis parameters and physical model, and establish the two-dimensional finite element model of the typical section. The finite element method is used for dam seepage calculation, the stress and strain analysis and slope stability analysis to study the dam seepage control effect when the plastic concrete cut-off wall in different positions.
