Study On Construction Of The Urban Parks In Beijing Under The Background Of Aging Society

China has become an aging country since1999, with the acceleration of the city residentsaging, the special demands of the old people cannot be neglected. As a significant consistingpart of the city environment, the urban public park not only functions to beautify the cities,protect the urban ecosystem, serve for emergency and disaster-prevention, etc, but also it canprovide enough space for the old to do outdoor activities, which benefits the senior citizens’health, family and society harmony.Beginning with the analysis of the aging society and the physical, psychological, andbehavioral characteristics of the old, this paper discusses the needs of the old citizens for theurban public park, and through field investigation and questionnaire survey, it mainly analysesthe expectation and feedback from the tourists towards Jingshan Park. After reviewing theexperience of Wanlvyuan in Haikou, and Kleingarten, it reached the following conclusions:（1） The aging population tendency has continuously accelerated in the whole world.The people aged over60has the proportion of20.3%of the permanent residents of Beijing in2012.（2） The subsistence problem of the old people in Beijing has been nearly solved.They are demanding a better environment and a better quality of cultural life. Many seniorcitizens are willing to take an active part in social activities, and enjoying their life. A cozyplace for outdoor activities and daily interpersonal communication is needed. Urban publicparks will play an important role for it.（3） As a leader of those parks, Jingshan Park has already showed its advantages asone of the urban public parks, though with a few minor disadvantages. It has mainly satisfiedthe needs of recreational activities for local old people and sightseeing for tourists. （4） The culture and geography diversifies obviously in Beijing. The experience ofWanlvyuan can be learned in Beijing downtown and central green land park system can beconstructed. In the suburbs and those newly built districts,Kleingarten can be a good exampleto build a public citizen plantation which is based on the community management and full ofBeijing characteristics.
