Exploration Of Outdoor Environmental Facilities Design Of The Elderly Apartment In Fuzhou City

The rapid development and change in twenty-first Century bring us a great test of a new era---silver hair tide. This study focuses on outdoor environmental facility design of Fuzhou old apartment, basing on the background of global aging and the actual conditions in China where aging population and pension problems are prominent. Because of the special physiological and behavioral characteristics, the elderly are often regarded as a vulnerable group. However, the environmental facility for the elderly is one of the few, the humanization design is the most deficient. Environment facility is an important part of the elderly to participate in outdoor recreational activities, and its reasonable and perfect design deserves attention, for it can reflect the environmental quality of life among elderly population in the local.This paper was based on scientific humanism, multidisciplinary theoretical knowledge of environmental psychology, environment behavior, human engineering, sociology, and analysed the physiology, psychological characteristics of the elderly, which was the basic data for investigation and case design; teased outdoor environmental facility design principles and points under the basis of analyzing and summarizing the status of domestic and foreign research; selected several representative elderly apartments of Fuzhou and held interviews and questionnaires for the use of environmental facilities, design and evaluation after using, aiming to find problems lying in elderly outdoor environmental facility by conducting a comprehensive analysis of the data; proposed corresponding design points, combining the Yee’s rectification construction; putted forward optimization and upgrading strategy of elderly facilities design after the research and analysis.The problems lying in design of outdoor environment facilities for the elderly apartments in Fuzhou are mainly in the following four aspects:(1) Neglection of humanization design, lack of landscape participation.(2) Neglection of detail design, lack of essential function.(3) Poor help system in identification, insufficiency in guide.(4) The same phenomenon is serious, lack of regional culture connotation.The upgrading strategy of the elderly outdoor environmental facilities design are mainly in the following five aspects: (1) Give priority to people-oriented, barrier free design and secure design to meet the demand of the elderly.(2) Respect physiology and psychological needs of the elderly, provide flexible outdoor facilities and space.(3) Focus on the research and design of the overall and detailed landscape and facilities, create first-class landscape facilities and activities.(4) Respect natural environment, creat different greening environment of four seasons, build sustainable landscape.(5) Focus on the regeneration of traditional culture.
