Against the growing problems of power quality, coal mines have adopted relevant measures and related compensation equipments to control the electrified power quality, and have achieved gratifying successes. However, as various compensation equipments have certain defects, there do still existing problems of idle work, harmonic wave, the negative sequence in electrified coal mine power supply system of electric traction. Magnetically Controlled Reactor and the Hybrid Filter System are the effective ways to improve the electrified coal mine power quality. As a result, research on magnetically controlled reactor and the hybrid filter system is of great importance to improve the electrified coal mine power quality. Besides, the magnetically controlled reactor should own reasonable structure of magnetic valve, fast dynamic response, and low harmonic. The hybrid filter system aims to be high performance and good stability.This paper describes the research situation, analysis of several common reactive power compensation device; the same time,analyses the power compensation mode and device. Compares some type of dynamic compensate device, explained respectively of merit and shortcoming. This paper studies the MCR reactive power compensation device, which by the magnetic valve controlled reactor and fixed capacitor consisting of reactive power compensation device has a high reliability, low harmonic advantages has a very broad application prospects. Therefore, analyses the main circuit structure and the basic working principle of the MCR, illustrates the application of harmonic measurement in Var compensation device. At last, through a practical project case show the effect of MCR reactive power compensation device, proves that it has its special suitability on the scene in the coal mine user.
