With the city rapid development, land using is becoming a more serious problem. Oneof the available ways to solve this problem is to use the underground land. As a goodperformance machine in underground engineering construction, TBM is widely used intunnel project with its own characters, such as urban subway、pipeline、rail transportation,and it is also one of the iconic products in heavy equipment manufacturing industry. TBMdoes not develop smoothly in china because of weakly technology and insufficient fund, soTBM used in actual engineering application are normally bought from abroad. Coretechnology of TBM must be studied and explored in order to increase the independenttechnological innovation ability and to quickly improve the level of equipmentmanufacturing industry.Firstly, to clarify the type of TBM according to the study of TBM driving system, andknow how to choose their type, to analysis the key parts of rock cutting tool, to study cutterinternal structure and technological requirements in production process, after those process,theory basis is provided for operation parameters of simulated driving system.Secondly, the hob force prediction model is summarized by analyzing hob rockbroken and overview the hob rock damage theory. Combined with rock mechanics androck strength theory, rock failure criterion and constitutive model is concluded accordingto the analysis of rock parameters, so simulation method of rock material for TBM rockfragmentation process simulation is provided.Thirdly, with the help of ABAQUS and UG software, model of single TBM hob rockmodel is in numerical simulation. Dynamic effect of cutting tool in rock breakage process,stress nephogram and stress load curve are got. Considering the problem of cutter wear,with the increase of cutter wear, the cutting tool force is also increasing.Lastly, optimizing the cutter structure, and simulating fragmentation effect in differentcutter spacing. To make sure two cutter space with the method of specific energy,arranging cutting tool on the cutterhead one by one, and then simulating TBM cutter headdriving process. Variation curve of cutterhead torque is got, which can truly reflect the morphological changes between cutterhead and rocks. That result is similar to theory data,and also can be the theoretical support for engineering design and practice.
