Along with the running speed of passenger train getting faster and faster in our country, more and more people choose the passenger train as the primary means of transportation to travel. However, the railway passenger transport has its own characteristics:sealing, liquidity, long running time and larger passenger traffic. All of these could make passenger train be prone to leakage and catching fire. In addition, the power supply circuits of passenger train have certain high voltages, which would pose a major threat to passengers’physical security and state property in case of leakage accidents. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt a new equipment to detect the insulation state of the electrical system of passenger train on a regular basis for preventing leakage accidents and guaranteeing passengers’physical security and the long-term safe operation of the railway passenger transportation in our country.Based on the ST32-bit MCU STM32F103VBT6, this paper developed a kind of new equipment which specifically used to detect the insulation state of the electrical system of passenger train. When passenger train is offline, this equipment can quickly and conveniently detect the insulation resistance of the supply mains by automatically selecting any two among U, V, W, N and P(cable jacket) without manually switching wiring, providing the basis for diagnosis of the electrical system of passenger train.This paper mainly discusses the principle and method for detecting the insulation resistance of passenger train, also including the hardware architecture and the software programming of the detecting system. It mainly includes:data acquisition, data processing, data storage and LCD display, etc. Detecting personnel can complete the whole measurement processing just through some simple keystrokes and LCD display. At the same time, the equipment can automatically store detection results and back historical data.STM32F103VBT6is designed based on the Cortex M3processor by ST, so it has excellently balanced the contradiction between strong computing power and low power consumption. Based on this, STM32F103VBT6can effectively guarantee the low power consumption. Now, the chip has been widely used in hand-held and battery-powered equipments. In addition, this design effectively eliminates the power frequency interference at the scene of measurement. In a word, this equipment is portable, stable, anti-interference and high-precision. Therefore, it processes a good marketing prospect.
