Research On Chengdu Rapid Railway Station Area Underground Space Plan

With technology advancing, productivity increasing and fast urban sprawl, lots of problems including environmental deterioration, traffic congestion, resource scarcity and population overcrowding has arisen. Hence, what a modern city needs is development in an intensive, spatial and sustainable way, and one important path to it is taking advantage of underground space, which is just emerging in China. Moreover, since the construction of domestic rapid railways has been expedited and the railway stations within Chengdu area energetically promoted in recent years, more and more railway stations are playing significant roles in urban evolution. Referring to successful foreign experience, it is easy to notice that the areas of station coverage cannot be scientifically established without rational utilization of underground space, with which as the subject of my research, I wrote this dissertation.Paper includes five aspects:rapid railway and underground space planning overview, underground space development function and layout mode in station area, the status quo of underground space within station coverage areas of Chengdu rapid railway,development strategy of the underground space within station areas of Chengdu rapid railway and practice caseRapid railway and underground space planning overview includes station classification underground space development theory and the use of historical processes, describes the characteristics,principles and content of the underground space planning, Demonstrated the feasibility and necessity of developing underground space within station area of rapid railway, understand the development model of the successful area by case studies about the Marunouchi area and Jinan West Railway Station area.Underground space development function and layout mode in station area describes the common features horizontal layout and vertical layout mode and influencing factor of underground space within station areas, summarizes the characteristics of underground space development in station area, the underground space development function and layout mode in central station area and hub station area. The status quo of underground space within station coverage areas of Chengdu rapid railway investigated construction of underground space within station areas in Chengdu area? pointed out the problems about development of underground space within station areas and analyzes the urgency of underground space development in rapid railway station.Development strategy of the underground space within station areas of Chengdu rapid railway conducts a study on development strategy of the said type of underground space, formulating the target and requirements, level and functions of the exploitation, carrying out separate detailed tactical research on: underground traffic system, underground municipal system, underground public service facilities, internal environment design and establishment of laws and regulations.Practice case take the coverage area of Chongzhou station (Chengdu-Pujiang rapid railway) as an example, introduce the content and features of theunderground space planning in Chongzhou station area, as a feedback to the summary of the theories and strategy that have been discussed in this dissertation, hoping to provide reference for similar planning.
