Extradosed cable-stayed bridge which originated in France and developed in Japan, has a notable development in our country in the past20years. The performances of this type of bridge are very similar to continuous rigid frame bridge. That is to say, the inclined cables in extradosed cable-stayed bridge which transfer forces to tower are very similar to the prestress steel in continuous rigid-frame bridge. So it has the characters both in continuous rigid frame bridge and cable-stayed bridge, which make him to has great advantage in the range of100-300m span.Existed extradosed cable-stayed bridges mainly adopted the through type anchorage mode. This earlier anchored structure was generally adopted the double pipe saddle structure, which had been replaced with strand-separating tubular-saddle for the disadvantages such as producing stress concentration easily and replacing the cable saddle inconveniently. Internal structure of strand-separating tubular-saddle is very complex, through which the anchor cable stress is passed to the saddle, then the saddle passes it to the concrete, the whole loading process is a complex nonlinear contact process. Based on a extradosed cable-stayed bridge as an example, on the basis of a large number of research works, this article analyzes the local stress distribution of the anchorage zone using the method of finite element analysis. The main contents are as follows:1The summary and comparision are given to structures of tower, inclined cable, main beam both to conventional cable-stayed bridge and extradosed cable-stayed bridge.2The static analysis to the bridge has been carried out by the software Midas/Civil.3Based on the theory of contact, using large-scale finite element software ABAQUS and FEA, the local stresses in concrete in the anchorage zone have been analysized. It is obtained the stress distribution in strand-separating tubular-saddle, which can provide a reference for similar bridge’s design and construction.
