At the same time, residential building mode is extensive in our country, and the lack of research for long-term residential adaptability and the elderly living demand will encounter a lot of inconvenience in the process of home-based care for the aged.Starting from the old-age home elderly people living in existing residential buildings. This paper defines the related concepts of storage space and living environment with human, the inductive elaboration, illustrates storage, storage system, influence of living environment on human psychology and behavior. The paper analyzes difficulties of the existing housing for the elderly have storage space layout. Summarizes the current situation and problems of each function space of the existing residential within the storage space layout. Explores further the relationship between the behavior ability and the use of storage space for the elderly, and according to the difference of behavior ability to classify the elderly, summarizes the generally used in the storage space. In the face of this situation, this paper proceeds from housing types based on old-age home care mode, studies the design on the existing residential storage space suitable for the elderly by the architectural design and techniques of construction spatial organization, to enable them to better service for the elderly in later life, and make a specific design strategies, summarizes the related design principles, in order to provide reference for solve the current existing residential is not suitable for the elderly pension. According to the research results of residential storage space suitable for the elderly, puts forward some supplementary design suggestions for the future residential house type design, enriches details of the storage space in the future residential house type design, and puts forward a new design angle for the future residential house type design.
